Northstar Resale: eBay Listing Creation, Cleanup and a Title Correction

Northstar Resale sells consumer goods and general merchandise on eBay. EHP handled listing-management assignments for the account: publishing a batch of new listings, dealing with a listing flagged under an eBay policy, and correcting a title so it named the right product variant.

About Northstar Resale

Northstar Resale is an e-commerce business on eBay that specializes in mixed-inventory retail: a variety of consumer goods and general merchandise for customers who want different products in one online store.

The business says it puts customer satisfaction, reliable communication and efficient order fulfillment first, and it aims to ship promptly and answer customer inquiries within 24 hours. EHP's work in this case study was listing management: creating listings, resolving a flagged listing and correcting a product title.

The goals

  • 1. Accurate new listings. Prepare the requested listings with the right images, titles, quantities, conditions and required selling settings.
  • 2. A clear batch status. Track ready, held and skipped products separately instead of treating the whole batch as ready to publish.
  • 3. A resolved flagged listing. Use the action the owner approved, and check the connected listing tool if the item reappears.
  • 4. The right variant in the title. Make the advertised product variant match the variant named in the task.
  • 5. Proof of the change. Confirm each change on the published listing or the relevant status screen and keep the evidence for the Consultant's review.

The challenges

1. Listing creation

The brief covered ten listing sections, and several entries needed clarification. One product had no photo, two raised concerns about expiry dates, and one entry was explicitly skipped. The team had to separate the listings that were ready to publish from the items that needed a decision first.

2. A flagged listing

An eBay policy notice said a listing had been removed and that buyers could no longer see it. It also warned that further violations could bring a temporary account restriction, with the seller's other listings hidden from search. The team found discrepancies in the listing's images and quantity. After the owner chose to end the listing, it was reported to have reappeared, so the review had to cover the connected listing tool as well as eBay itself.

3. A title that named the wrong formulation

The original brief reported that a listing named one product formulation while the customer received another. The new title had to name the requested variant.

What we did

1. Worked through the listing batch

The team worked from the ten-section brief and the linked product document, tracking missing assets and held or skipped entries. EHP's back-end specialist reported publishing the remaining three entries. The Consultant supplied listing links and screenshots, then reported the batch complete.

One listing from the batch: a storage case listed as New at US $19.99 with free USPS Priority Mail shipping. Title and seller details hidden.

2. Ended the flagged listing and checked the connected tool

The owner approved ending the listing instead of repairing it. When the item was reported back on eBay, EHP's specialist traced it to an active record in the connected listing tool and reported removing that record. A Seller Hub search then showed no matching active listing, and the item's row read Not relisted.

3. Applied the requested title and confirmed it

The exact replacement title went to the execution team. The full revised title was then compared with the requested replacement, and the team reported that the published listing showed the requested variant in the title, with matching main packaging.

Results

  • Listing creation: the batch started with missing information, held entries and one skipped item. The team reported every listing live except the skipped entry, and the storage-case listing above is the published example on file.
  • Flagged listing: the item was ended on the owner's decision. After it was reported relisted, the connected-tool record was removed, and Seller Hub showed zero matching active results with the item marked Not relisted. The team reports that the client accepted the resolution.
  • Title accuracy: the brief reported a mismatch between the listed and the received formulation. The revised title now names the requested variant, backed by eBay's revision notice.
