You can now store products with expiration dates in Global Warehousing and Distribution (GWD) and replenish them to Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) fulfillment centers in the US.
If you sell in categories such as Health and Personal Care, Beauty, Baby Products, or other eligible categories, you can send expiration-dated products to GWD facilities in Shenzhen, Shanghai, or Ningbo, if they have 365 days or more of remaining shelf life when you create your shipment. Some products within eligible categories, such as meltable or temperature-sensitive items, are not eligible for GWD storage.
What this means for you
- Keep more of your catalog in GWD: Store your expiration-dated products with the rest of your GWD inventory, so you can manage more of your catalog from one location.
- Maintain inventory freshness in FBA: When they leave GWD, products must have 180 days or more of remaining shelf life, helping your inventory arrive at US FBA fulfillment centers with sufficient time to sell.
- Control how you replenish: Use automatic or manual replenishment to move expiration-dated products into FBA the same way you manage the rest of your GWD inventory.
