It’s the email every Amazon seller dreads. You log in to check your sales, and instead, you’re greeted by a notification: “Your Amazon selling account has been suspended.”
The panic is immediate. For many Amazon sellers, this account isn’t just a side project; it’s their livelihood. But here’s the good news: a suspension is not the end. We’ve had a lot of success getting accounts reinstated, and I’m going to go over how we do it so you can have a strategy that works.
We’ve seen the “We have reactivated your account” email plenty of times. Amazon even told one of our recent clients, “Best of luck selling.”
Awesome, right? So let’s break down the process.
Video overview:
Step 1: Stop and Investigate the Root Cause
Before you type a single word in an appeal, you must understand why you were suspended. Don’t just guess. You need to dig deep.
- Read the Suspension Notice: What policy did Amazon cite? They often mention Section 2 or Section 3 of the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement. Go read that agreement.
- Analyze Your Account: What policies did you actually break? Look at your Account Health dashboard, customer feedback, and A-to-z claims. Was it review manipulation? A high Order Defect Rate?
- Identify the ASINs: A suspension is often tied to specific products. Were you dealing with Amazon fakes or inauthentic complaints? This is a common one. If you’ve had issues with Amazon counterfeit products in your supply chain, you need to pinpoint exactly where the failure happened.
- Create a Timeline: Look at all the data. Figure out the timeline of events so you can build your case.

Step 2: Your Secret Weapon—Call Account Health Support
This is one of the most important things you can do, and most sellers skip it. Even if your account is suspended, as a Professional Seller, you can still call Amazon Account Health Support.
Do not submit your appeal yet.
Call them first. Ask them questions:
- “Can you tell me which ASINs were affected?”
- “What information does the review team need to see?”
- “Can you help me understand what caused this?”
Sometimes they will give you the exact information you’re missing. If you submit a confusing appeal, Amazon might start asking for more information, and now your job is 10 times harder. Use Account Health Support as your secret weapon to figure out what’s going on.

Step 3: Write a Clear and Concise Plan of Action (POA)
Now you’re ready to write the appeal. In most appeals (not all), you need to follow a very specific three-part structure. Keep it simple and concise.
- The Root Cause: What went wrong? Take accountability. Don’t say “we” or blame someone else. Say “I” or “My business failed to…” Be specific. (e.g., “The root cause was my failure to properly vet a new supplier, which led to complaints about inauthentic products.”)
- Corrective Actions: What have you already done to fix the problem? (e.g., “I have audited all my inventory, removed the affected ASINs, and terminated my relationship with the supplier in question.”)
- Preventative Actions: What will you do to ensure this never happens again? (e.g., “From now on, all new suppliers will be required to provide a valid Letter of Authorization and invoices, which will be verified before any products are listed.”)
Make sure you attach any evidence you have, like invoices, a Letter of Authorization, or proof of a new quality control process.

Step 4: What to Do if Your Appeal is Rejected
It is very, very difficult to get the first appeal accepted. Even a really good one. If it’s not accepted, don’t panic. Double-check and see what was missing. Sometimes they just want an affidavit or a specific invoice they didn’t ask for before.
If you’ve gone back and forth a few times and you know your appeal is solid, it’s time to escalate.
- Ask Account Health Support: You can ask your Account Health rep to escalate the appeal for you to an executive team.
- Use X.com (Twitter): Contact the Amazon Seller Help account on X. You can often get an actual rep who will look into your case.
- Go In-Person: If you can, go to an Amazon seller conference like Amazon Accelerate. We’ve had clients make an appointment at the “Seller Cafe,” speak to an Amazon employee, and get reinstated on the spot.

Step 5: When to Hire Professionals
If you’re stuck in a loop, you may need to bring in Amazon expert help.
You can hire an attorney, like those at https://amazonsellerslawyer.com/. They can talk directly to Amazon’s legal department. They’ve had success getting suspensions lifted and large sums of money released for clients by sending detailed legal letters.
Your other option is to hire an experienced Amazon consultant. As a Florida Amazon Consultant group, we at EHP Consulting Group handle these cases all the time. We have a list of appeals and templates that we know work for specific situations, from “Used Sold as New” and “Related Accounts” to counterfeit removal on Amazon.

The Cost of Getting Back Your Business
You have a few options, and they all come with different costs:
- Do It Yourself: $0. This just costs your time, but it can be a lot of time and stress.
- Hire an Expert/Consultant: ~$2,000 – $2,500. This can be higher or lower, but it gets an expert on your side immediately.
- Hire an Attorney: Starts at $3,000. This can easily go up to $5,000 or $10,000 if they charge hourly or if arbitration is needed.
- Last Resort (Stealth Account): ~$1,000. This is creating a second, backup Amazon account and is a last-ditch effort.

Don’t Fight This Battle Alone
We always recommend you attempt to do it yourself first. But if you’re stuck, we are here to help.
Getting reinstated is just the first step. The next is getting back to selling on Amazon and learning how to drive Amazon sales again. Whether you need an Amazon PPC expert to restart your ads, an Amazon advertising expert to rebuild your brand, or an Amazon counterfeit removal expert to protect your listings, our team has you covered.
If you need help, contact us at EHP Consulting Group. We’ve been there, we’ve done it, and we can help you get your business back.
