Step-by-Step Guide to Convert to WFS
1. Log in to Walmart Seller Central
Begin by logging in to Walmart Seller Center. From there, navigate to your Catalog and find the product you want to convert to WFS.
2. Select “Fulfill with WFS”
Once you’ve identified the product, go to the right side of the page where you should see an option that says Fulfill with WFS. If this option isn’t visible, especially on new listings, wait 24 hours and check again.
In some cases, clicking the product’s checkbox and selecting More Actions will reveal the WFS option. Once you find it, click Fulfill with WFS to proceed.
3. Fill Out the Required Information
You’ll be prompted to fill in several fields:
- Country of Origin: Select where the product was made.
- GTIN (Global Trade Item Number): Enter the 14-digit GTIN. If you only have a 12-digit UPC code, add two zeros in front to convert it into the correct format.
- Product Dimensions: Enter the depth, width, and height. You can estimate if you’re unsure, as long as the information is reasonable.
- Electronic Component & Battery Information: Specify whether the product contains electronics or batteries.
- Prop 65 Warning (for California): If applicable, provide the required warning. Otherwise, enter “N/A.”
4. Submit Your Changes
After completing the form, hit Submit for Changes. You’ll be given a Feed ID—copy this for your records in case there are issues later. If the submission goes through successfully, your product will be converted to WFS within 24 hours.
5. Ship Your Products to Walmart
Once the product is approved for WFS, it will display both “Seller Fulfilled” and “Walmart Fulfillment Services” on your dashboard. You can now create a shipping plan and send your inventory to Walmart’s fulfillment centers.
Pro Tips for Converting to WFS
- GTIN vs. UPC Confusion: If Walmart requests a GTIN and you only have a UPC code, remember that a UPC is typically 12 digits, whereas a GTIN requires 14. To resolve this, add zeros to the front of your UPC code until it reaches 14 digits.
- Keep Your Feed ID Handy: If you encounter errors during submission, having your Feed ID makes it easier to troubleshoot with Walmart support. You can always retrieve it from your Activity Feed.
- Check for Hazmat Review: If there’s an issue with your listing, check if it requires a Hazmat Review. Ensure your product complies with Walmart’s safety regulations, especially for items like electronics or anything that could be considered hazardous.
