Ways on How to Deal with Burn Out

Introduction

Feeling stressed, helpless, and constantly missing out on those deadlines? How about exhaustion? Always tired, depressed, and unmotivated to get up and go to work? You might be suffering from burnout. A state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion, mostly caused by prolonged exposure to stress. Experiencing burnout can delay or even hinder productivity, increase feelings of depression and helplessness. Even irritability can be one of the signs of burnout.The problem with this, it can bleed through every aspect of your life; work, family, relationships, and even your social life. Excessive and chronic exposure can even manifest in us physically. Like losing weight, loss of appetite and even getting sick. As for the signs and symptoms, it starts slow and creeps up on you, leading to a build-up like experiencing a mental breakdown or breaking point.

So how does one deal with burnout?

1. Watch and develop a sense of self-awareness

– always be in touch with what your body and health tell you. If you think you are developing signs of burnout, try to be conscious enough to remove yourself from the situation for a while. To recoup or recharge. That way, you can still be productive and have a sense of positivity in the long run.

2. Self – Care is good for your mental and physical health


– at least have some sort of activity that is different from what you are normally used to, especially at work. Maybe develop a hobby that you love, or just even lounging on your sofa or taking a bath, yoga, and meditation, or getting goodnight’s sleep. Just have something or do something that is out of the norm, that you love doing. Relax and take a deep breath.

3. Exercise 


– Exercise can be an option for fighting burnout. Exercise releases dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are there to help regulate mood.

4. Spend some time with your loved ones or have a social life.


– and remove yourself from negative people or negative situation Spending some time with the people you love and care about, can further strengthen your social bonds, develop deep connections and ease the burden of carrying the load of being burned out. Another option is to get help through therapy.
